Stakeholder Engagement and Singapore International Energy Week Programming Recommendations

Noting our specialty in the sustainability arena, Forward was approached by communications giant, Burson Marsteller to assist the Singapore Energy Market Authority (EMA) on several fronts.

To help the organisation innovate and increase its relevance and leadership on energy issues, we brought a number of recommendations to the table: in terms of engaging a more diverse group of energy experts at their flagship event, Singapore International Energy Week, as well as several strategies to address energy efficiency both domestically, and around the Southeast Asian region.

Project Catalyst, Feasibility Study, Research + Development

In concert with private investors, Forward has been involved in researching the feasability of a large-scale organic agriculture operation, with several synergistic offshoot businesses.  Beyond  agriculture on a New Zealand based site, we are also exploring the possibility of cleantech energy production, education, and value-added organic food products.  The project is in its early days, and we are currently looking for suitable real estate in the northern Auckland region.  Please stay tuned for further developments.

We've aligned with Eco-business.com to assist with their business development plans, as well as to provide a new audience for Forward Thinking material.  We also have several upcoming events in the works.  Please stay tuned for more updates.

The opportunity arose at a very late hour to give Eco-business.com unprecidented access to the Business for Environment Summit as a media partner.  With a wide range of capabilities in event coverage and in-depth one-on-one thought leaders, Forward was brought into the picture to assist with live coverage of the summit.

Through blog articles and frequent tweets on the ground, we helped Eco-business.com deliver valuable insight from the event to local business leaders.  A full list of articles from the summit can be found here.  [Coverage was made possible in part by the help of City Developments Limited (CDL)]  We've since handled numerous conferences and summits for Eco-business.com, including World Cities and National Sustainability Conference.

Kranji Countryside Vision 2020 Plan

Strategic Plan

How do you steer development for Singapore's only agricultural district?  How can infrastructure limitations be overcome?  How can diverse stakeholder groups get engaged with the process?

These were the burning questions brought to Forward by the KCA  Executive.  We helped clarify development goals, prioritise actions, and organise the process.  We also helped establish genuine progress indicators in the way of a "Kranji Wellness Index" to ensure progress is carefully tracked going into the future.

Through ongoing government and stakeholder involvement, the plan has started to evolve and move towards implementation.  Stay tuned for more updates on progress in Kranji.

Cleantech "100% Plan"

Research, Copywriting, + Editorial

Alongside business luminaries including Phillip Mills and Stephen Tindall, Forward was enlisted to  research, copywrite, and edit a sizable document briefing key politicians on the opportunities of climate friendly policies and technology.  The "100% Plan" was an epic undertaking by multiple researchers, dozens of business leaders, and 50 signatories to help influence the course of climate action in New Zealand.  Thanks to this initiative, a Government backed task force for cleantech is now in the works.  More on the background of this initiative can be found in an article found here.

Forward was called in to help to produce a comprehensive, plain-English toolkit  on SDR in cooperation with the SDR Committee.

Unitec Hortecology Sanctuary

Stakeholder Management + Communications, Development Strategy, Management Planning

The result: Workforce Auckland championed as the new lease holder, community groups are setting up a trust to help operate the site going forward, and the general public will benefit from having this centre of excellence remain well into the future.
